Title: Basic Judaism for Jews and Non-Jews Alike

This course provides an overview of the Bible, Shabbat ritual and observances, how to observe kashrut (keeping kosher), and the Jewish laws of death and mourning. Bernice K. Weiss, author of Converting to Judaism - Choosing to be Chosen: Personal Stories will lead this comprehensive study program, utilizing textual materials that deal with Jewish history, law, and rituals. Rabbi Weiss’ expertise of more than 18 years makes her a forerunner in the field of conversion and teaching interfaith couples.

*This session of classes began on February 2.

Admission: The cost is $128 for a series of seven lessons.

image This series of Tuesday lunch-n-learn sessions focus on how Jewish ethical teachings apply in modern life and professions, including business, law and medicine, but specifically in business controversies. MesorahDC is an organization dedicated to providing quality Jewish education, social events and Friday night dinners to young professionals throughout the metropolitan area in an environment in which Jewish people of all backgrounds and affiliations can learn more about the depth and beauty of our Jewish heritage. A pizza lunch is included.
