Combining hip-hop, rock, reggae, and funk, and spiced with Middle Eastern flavor, Hadag Nahash’s distinct sound has brought the band international fame. Booming out of Jerusalem in 1996, Hadag Nahash has become Israel’s leading hip-hop band and is set to embark on their sixth tour across North America. The band has been frequently compared to The Roots and has shared the stage with such global sensations as The Black Eyed Peas, Cypress Hill, and The Streets. They also recently contributed multiple songs to the soundtrack of Adam Sandler’s film, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. The chart-topping and award-winning Israeli group returns to Sixth & I for what should be another unforgettable performance under the dome.

Admission: Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the show. Limited $40 VIP tickets are available and include a pre-show meet and greet with the band and reserved seating. Discounted student and Birthright alumni tickets are also available for $18. More than three years since her last release, Newsom returns with her highly anticipated third studio album. Her distinct harp techniques and vocal styles have caught the ears of a powerful following. Often labeled as one of the most prominent members of the modern psych folk movement, Newsom does not acknowledge ties to any particular musical scene. Her songwriting incorporates elements of Appalachian music and avant-garde modernism. Come hear the Nevada City harpist, pianist, and singer-songwriter play her tunes under the dome.

A onetime child prodigy, Shankar learned the sitar at the feet of her father, legendary Indian musician Ravi Shankar and has since established herself as a formidable composer and creative voice in her own right. Anoushka fuses a cross-cultural mix of East and West through collaborations with artists such as Sting and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
