Nine Lives, Colman deKay and Paul Sanchez’s adaption of the bestselling non-fiction book by Dan Baum, follows nine New Orleanians through the years between Hurricane Betsy in 1965 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. As joyous, eccentric, tragic and hopeful as the city that inspired them, the songs range from Fats Domino-tinged rock & roll to traditional jazz, blues, Mardi Gras Indian chants, chamber music, soul, brass band, and hip-hop.
The inspiring story is brought to life by renowned singer-songwriter Paul Sanchez, Tony Award-winning actor Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd, Assassins), author Dan Baum, and musician Arsene Delay. Following sold-out performances at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, this powerful adaptation destined for Broadway is not to be missed.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $23 on the day of the show, and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800.745.3000, or visiting Sixth & I Monday - Friday between Noon – 3:00 pm ($1.00 fee per ticket for Sixth & I Box Office purchases). On the night of the event, will-call and ticket sales will end at 10:00 pm. No one will be permitted to enter the event after that time. All seating is general admission. Doors open at 7:00 pm. |
