A quintessential late-bloomer to music, Kearney didn’t write his first song until college. Since then, Kearney has performed like a destined musician, now with two albums under his belt and multiple Top 40 hits. Following his breakthrough album, Nothing Left to Lose, which includes singles like “Undeniable,” “Breathe In Breathe Out,” and the title track “Nothing Left to Lose,” Kearney returned last year with City of Black & White - an open-hearted album of self-discovery, and a chronicle of the people he met and missed during his journeys on the road. His most recent album features the singles “All I Have” and “Closer to Love.” Come listen to the singer/songwriter perform solo under the awe-inspiring Sixth & I dome. |

The great American argument over global warming continues to rage on Capitol Hill and beyond. In The Climate War: True Believers, Power Brokers, and the Fight to Save the Earth, award-winning journalist Eric Pooley describes the political and economic battle surrounding climate change legislation, offering a revealing look at the power players who are working to either make or break transformative energy policy.
In a rare panel discussion, Pooley interviews key players of the Environmental Defense Fund’s National Climate Campaign, the most passionate advocates for a mandatory declining cap on carbon emissions. These unsung heroes from the trenches of the Climate War include Steve Cochran, Director; Tony Kreindler, Media Director; Melissa Carey, Climate Change Policy Specialist; and Mark MacLeod, Director of Special Projects. Together, they will lead a tour of the climate battleground, from the backrooms of Capitol Hill to the corporate C-suites to the West Wing of the Obama White House.
Pooley, deputy editor of Bloomberg Businessweek, is also the former managing editor of Fortune and the former national editor, White House correspondent and chief political correspondent at Time.

Finding herself single at age 40, journalist Lori Gottlieb said the unthinkable in her March 2008 article in The Atlantic: Maybe she, and single women everywhere, were holding out for a mythical Prince Charming when what might really make them happy is Mr. Good Enough. Her ideas created a firestorm of debate, leading her to investigate the question: What makes for true long-term romantic fulfillment, and are we looking for those qualities in a partner? From culture to biology, Marry Him explores the dilemma that so many women today seem to face—how to reconcile the desire for a husband and family with a list of must-haves so long that many great guys get rejected out of the gate. A provocative romantic wake-up call, Marry Him asks us to look at ourselves and our belief systems about what it really means to be happily in love. Gottlieb will be in conversation with Scott Stossel, Deputy Editor of The Atlantic.

Jerry Wolman: The World's Richest Man is the never-been-told true story of Jerry Wolman, who came from the coal mining region of Pennsylvania and made it big. He became known as "The Boy Wonder" of real estate as a storybook "rags to riches" builder in the Washington, D.C. area in the mid-1950s through the 1960s, amassing a personal financial empire. Capturing national attention in 1963 when he purchased the Philadelphia Eagles, he became the youngest owner in the National Football League. Wolman's rapid success and legendary generosity made him an icon of his day. However, in attempting to build one of the world's tallest buildings, the John Hancock Center in Chicago, he ran into severe construction problems, causing his $100 million dollar empire to topple.
This book chronicles Wolman’s meteoric rise and fall, and the thousands he touched along the way. Wolman, now 83, and author Joseph Bockol will be interviewed by Steve Buckhantz, the television voice of the Wizards on Comcast SportsNet.
