MesorahDC Shabbat Services

Friday and Saturday, January 2 and 3 and February 6, 7, 20 and 21

6:45 p.m. (Friday Night Services; Dinner to follow)
9:30 a.m. (Saturday Morning Services)

MesorahDC helps young singles in their 20s and 30s to 38 experience a beautiful — and tasty— Shabbat. To usher in the Shabbat, we begin with a traditional, easy-to-follow service, based around the stirring melodies of the late Jewish composer, Shlomo Carlebach. Explanations and a running commentary accompany the service, so that even people less familiar with it feel more connected. The service is followed by a full-scale, gourmet Shabbat meal on the first Friday of the month, and a lighter dinner on the third Friday, in the social hall downstairs. The cost for the full dinner is $15.00 per person. If you come with a friend, it's half price for each. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Rabbi Edelstein at 301/233-2969 or by e-mail. The second dinner of the month (third weekend) is free. You may also sign up at the MesorahDC website. Please note that this service has separate seating. Note: The February 6 service features Dr. Norman N. Blumenthal.
