Introduction to Reading Hebrew
- This event has passed.
This course introduces reading Hebrew through engaging and participatory activities. Demystify the Hebrew alphabet as you learn the letters and vowels and how to combine them to “crack the code.” Some Hebrew words and roots commonly found in the Jewish prayer book will also be introduced. For the benefit of all participants, attendance is expected at all 10 classes, and 10-20 minutes per day of home practice is recommended.
Keren Yairi is a certified language instructor; in addition to Hebrew, she teaches reading and English as a Second/Other Language in the DC schools and has been an international development consultant for education and literacy projects.
