SUMMARY:Radical Acceptance: Embracing Life with an Awake Heart
DESCRIPTION:This is a day-long meditation seminar that begins at 9:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. In respect of Jewish traditions regarding kosher food\, we ask that participants’ lunches be vegetarian. \nOne of the deepest forms of suffering in our culture is the pain of feeling that “something is wrong with me.” This\, accompanied by our judgment of others\, keeps us at war with life.  When not faced\, our fears and blame prevent us from living and loving fully. On the societal level\, creating a “bad other” fuels the violence that plagues our world today. \nRadical Acceptance is the capacity to see clearly what is happening in the moment and to accept what we see with love. Participants will explore this pathway to freedom through didactic presentation\, experiential exercises\, meditations\, and discussion. \nTara Brach\, Ph.D is a clinical psychologist\, meditation teacher\, and author of bestselling books\, Radical Acceptance and True Refuge. Over one million people tune in to her monthly podcast. In addition to her public teaching\, she is active in bringing meditation into Washington\, DC area schools\, prisons\, and to under-served populations.
