SUMMARY:Back to School Comedy Featuring Louis Katz
DESCRIPTION:This event will take place in our Downstairs venue. Limited seating may be available. For those who require seating\, please call in advance. \nLouis Katz deftly combines the highbrow and the lowbrow\, creating a comedy style that is truly unique. An internationally headlining comedian\, Louis’ numerous television appearances include NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon\, HBO’s Down & Dirty w/Jim Norton\, and most recently\, Comedy Central’s Comedy Underground w/Dave Attell. He was also a regularly featured writer/correspondent on FX’s Totally Biased with W Kamau Bell. \nHis half-hour Comedy Central Presents special aired in 2011\, coinciding with the release of his debut comedy album\, If These Balls Could Talk\, on Comedy Central Records.Louis also produced a series of short films for Adult Swim’s superdeluxe.com\, which can now be seen at youtube.com/louiskatzcomedy. \nMike Finazzo uses his unique brand of storytelling to make audiences laugh\, whether it’s a two thousand-seat theater or a fifteen-seat bar. A Baltimore native\, Mike has performed as far North as Canada and as far West as California\, opening for Dennis Miller\, Drew Carey\, Nick Dipaolo\, Godfrey\, Judah Friedlander\, Kevin Pollak\, Carlos Mencia\, Hal Sparks\, and Rich Vos. \nMike’s debut CD Stupid Genius was released in 2012 and his sophomore album The Cheery Side of Denial was released in January of this year for free on his website. In addition to stand-up\, Mike has written and directed two feature length films\, The Life and Times of Andrew Quinn and Pavement Tune\, which received critical and commercial success in the independent film circuit. Mike can also be heard frequently as a guest and contributor on Baltimore’s #1 radio station 98 Rock. \nGrant Gordon has been performing in New York City for the past seven years. His style is both thought-provoking and approachable. He is a regular at many of the major clubs in New York\, and co-hosts a popular weekly show in Brooklyn with Louis Katz called “Sack Magic.” He also performs at colleges throughout the northeast\, and for his cat at home.
