DESCRIPTION:One of the most ceaselessly inventive and highly regarded trios of the past 20 years is that of pianist Brad Mehldau (with bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard). On numerous recordings and in concerts worldwide\, Mehldau has expanded the trio’s vocabulary\, infusing post-bop jazz with classical accents and embracing an expansive repertoire of jazz standards\, pop songs from the Beatles to Radiohead\, and original compositions.
