DESCRIPTION:This is a 10-part class that meets Wednesdays\, June 25 – August 27. For the benefit of all  participants\, attendance is expected at all 10 classes\, as is 20 minutes per day of home practice.  \nDemystify the Hebrew alphabet through participatory activities and exercises. Emphasis is placed on reading the prayer book and other Jewish liturgy. Intended for those with little to no prior Hebrew reading ability. \nKeren Yairi is a certified language instructor; in addition to Hebrew\, she teaches English as a Second/Other Language\, literacy\, and language arts in the DC schools.  She is also an international development consultant for education and literacy projects. \nHebrew alphabet image via shutterstock.com
