SUMMARY:Kennedy Center Chamber Players
DESCRIPTION:The Kennedy Center Chamber Players is formed of principal and guest players of the National Symphony Orchestra performing an exciting repertoire to include:\nElliott Carter: Woodwind Quintet\nDavid Maslanka: Quintet for Winds No.3\nJohannes Brahms (arr. Mark Popkin): Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Handel \nThe Kennedy Center Chamber Players: \nAaron Goldman\, Principal Flute of the National Symphony Orchestra since January 2013\, joined the NSO as Assistant Principal Flute in September 2006. Prior to joining the NSO\, he was Principal Flute of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed as guest principal with the Baltimore Symphony. \nNicholas Stovall joined the National Symphony Orchestra as principal oboe in 2008. He completed studies at The Juilliard School and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Stovall has participated in the Aspen\, Tanglewood\, Round Top and Eastern Music Festivals\, as well as the National Repertory Orchestra. He is proud to teach in the NSO’s Youth Fellowship Program. \nEugene Mondie is currently the Assistant Principal and Eb Clarinetist with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington\, D.C. Mondie has also served as Principal of the Spokane Symphony\, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa\, and as acting Principal of the Charleston Symphony. As a member of the National Symphony he has given master classes throughout the United States on their annual residencies as well as here in the Washington\, D.C. area. \nSue Heineman has been principal bassoonist of the National Symphony Orchestra since September 2000. Prior to joining the NSO\, she held positions with the New Haven\, Memphis\, New Mexico\, and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras. She has appeared as soloist with the NSO on numerous occasions\, as well as with the Kennedy Center Chamber Players\, comprised of principal players from the NSO. \nAbel Pereira was appointed Principal Horn of the National Symphony Orchestra by Christoph Eschenbach in 2014. He was born in Porto in the late 70s\, earned his degree at ESMAE with Bohdan Sebestik and continued his studies in Germany with Marie-Luise Neunecker. Since his first solo performance at the age of 11\, he has developed an intense concert and master class schedule in many international music festivals around the world through Europe\, North and South America\, Asia\, Africa\, and the Middle East.
