DESCRIPTION:6:00 pm – Happy Hour\n7:00 pm – Service\n8:15 pm – Dinner (SOLD OUT)\n \nObserve National Refugee Shabbat at this inclusive service led by Rabbi Nora blending contemporary and traditional elements. Hear from Amy Hoang Wrona\, the Development Director and Artistic Director of the Storytelling Program for Homes Not Borders\, an organization providing refugees and other forced migrants in the DC area with what they need to thrive and feel at home in the United States. She’ll speak about their work\, the current refugee admissions crisis\, and how you can help. \nStay after for a seasonal meal prepared by chefs at Emma’s Torch\, a social enterprise that empowers refugees through culinary education and job readiness training. \nThe menu includes: \nTo start\nKunik bloomy rind cheese with baguette\, cherry mustard\, and spiced nuts (vegetarian)\nKale salad with roasted winter squash\, dried cherries\, red onion\, spiced nuts\, and maple vinaigrette (vegan\, GF)  \nDinner\nPan-seared fish with Hoppinʼ John\, green onions & sauce piquant (GF)\nButternut squash pasta with red onion\, sage\, and pumpkin seed gremolata (vegan)  \nDessert\nKnafeh (shredded filo dough) layered with cheese and topped with orange syrup (vegetarian; GF and vegan dessert available by request) \nThe meal provided will be kosher-style pescatarian buffet with gluten-free and vegan offerings.
