SUMMARY:National Pride Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:6:15 pm – Happy Hour\n7:15 pm – Service\n8:30 pm – Dinner \nOne weekend a year\, Pride takes over DC—and it takes over Shabbat at Sixth & I\, as well. Erev Pride Shabbat services will be filled with celebration\, reflection\, and inspiration. Led by Rabbi Shira and Aaron Shneyer\, Rabbi Laurie Green of Bet Mishpachah\, and members of GLOE\, we will stand together\, unapologetically proud\, and celebrate our entire community. The sermon will be given by an anonymous representative of the Russian LGBT Network\, who will speak about the oppression of the LGBT community in Chechnya. \nBefore services\, hang out and meet new people over light refreshments. Following happy hour and services\, enjoy a home-cooked meal at one of our two dinner options. Dinner will feature a gummy bear spritzer and drag trivia hosted by our own Queen Esther. \nIn partnership with OneTable\, we’ll offer two different Shabbat dinner options:\nRegistration for the Young Professional Shabbat Dinner for those in their 20s and 30s will be available when doors open at 6:15 pm.\nThe Community Shabbat Dinner\, which is open to all ages\, is now SOLD OUT.  \nDinner is a Kosher meat meal\, vegetarian and gluten-free options available. If you have any food needs\, please contact Abby at least five days before the event. \nSixth & I strives to be an accessible and welcoming resource for the community by offering affordable experiences\, including Shabbat dinners. The subsidized price of $15 does not reflect the true cost of the meal provided ($30). If you are able\, please consider covering the full cost of your Shabbat meal.
