With a versatile sound employing powerful three-part harmonies\, the band fuses folk and energetic driving rock into one sound with mesmerizing saxophone and guitar solos. \nListen to Aaron Shneyer\nFor fans of: Sublime\, Paul Simon\nAaron Shneyer’s roots\, rock\, and soul-driven music celebrates life and hopes to heal our divides. With influences like Caetano Veloso\, Miriam Makeba\, and Jimi Hendrix\, Aaron and his band weave together elements of rock\, folk\, reggae and the music of South America and the Middle East. He’s a 2023 Artist Fellow with the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities\, the founder of Heartbeat\, an organization dedicated to empowering Israeli and Palestinian youth musicians\, and since 2015 has led Sixth & I’s music team. \nListen to Eli Waltz\nFor fans of: Shakey Graves\, Ray Lamontagne\, and Gregory Alan Isakov\nEli Waltz is a folk rock musician known for whimsical lyricism\, unconventional chord progressions\, and gut-punching harmonica solos. His music incorporates American blues\, rock ‘n’ roll\, Chinese Guqin\, and European Baroque music and draws upon the poetic traditions of the Beat Generation. Waltz is part of a new wave of up-and-coming American blues and folk artists in Washington\, DC\, home of historic folk label Takoma Records\, Skip James\, and other local artists who inspire Waltz’s work. \nAt all in-person events in November leading up to Thanksgiving (November 1 through 18)\, we’re collecting non-perishable\, shelf stable food items to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank. Check out their most-needed items.
