SUMMARY:The Sharp Things
DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, this show has been canceled. \nThe Sharp Things is a Brooklyn-based\, classic orchestral pop and rock collective led by singer-songwriter Perry Serpa. Current members include Steve Gonzalez\, Jim Santo\, Aisha Cohen\, Michelle Caputo\, James Pertusi\, Andrea Dovalle\, Janis Shen\, and Adrienne Day. \nThe band originated in the late 1990s as a recording project of Serpa and drummer Gonzalez.  The group’s first album\, Here Comes The Sharp Things\, was released in 2002 on Dive Records. Since then the band has released five more critically acclaimed albums on various labels in the US and abroad and has toured this circus from coast to coast. \nIn September 2009\, The Sharp Things began recording what was to become a four-album series titled Dogs Of Bushwick. Produced by Billy “Prince Polo” Szeflinski\, the recordings are the band’s first at The Kennel Recording Studio in East Williamsburg\, Brooklyn\, a facility co-owned by Santo and current Sharp Things bassist James Pertusi\, with whom Santo previously performed in Jenifer Convertible. In September 2010\, the band finalized a fully funded Kickstarter campaign to record the album. The first album in the Dogs Of Bushwick series\, Green Is Good\, was released in February 2013\, on Dive Records.
