SUMMARY:Volunteer with the Community Service Collective
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer with Sixth & I’s Community Service Collective and Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSS/NCA) for an afternoon of wellness workshops designed to empower participants to live healthier lives\, both mentally and physically. \nVolunteers will assist with and participate in workshops facilitated by the Sixth & I community focused on emotional health and the mind-body connection. Plus\, lead games and crafts activities for children not participating in the workshops. Workshops will be attended by members of LSS/NCA’s Youth Development & Wellness program\, which serves youth affected by HIV/AIDS\, mental illness\, and substance abuse in the Metro DC area. \nProceeds from ticket purchases will underwrite the cost of meals provided for Lutheran Social Services’ Youth Haven program participants.
