The Hardest Conversation

Session 2: History of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Explore the birth of both Jewish and Palestinian national aspirations and their divergent experiences of Israel’s founding: the War of Independence and the Nakba (“catastrophe” in Arabic) , respectively. Discuss the ways historical narratives live on today, how they shape the negotiating table, and whether mutual recognition of these narratives might help pave a path forward. This class will be taught by Rabbi Shira and Obada Shtaya of OneVoice International.
