Born and bred to be devout, Heather Gay based her life around her Mormon faith. From mission trips to attending Brigham Young University to marrying into church royalty, Gay did everything expected of a “good Mormon.” Her life was upended when she lost the marriage and faith she had once believed would last forever.

In Bad Mormon, the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star and Beauty Lab + Laser co-founder chronicles her struggle to find healing after heartbreak, her departure from the Mormon church, and her unexpected journey to success in business, television, and single motherhood. Famous for speaking the gospel truth, Gay recounts the difficult discovery of the damage that often exists behind a picture-perfect life and what it took to blaze a new trail, even at the cost of losing family, friends, and her church.

A revealing and ultimately hopeful memoir, Bad Mormon also explores the challenges of raising strong women despite feeling broken and teases out the complicated relationship between duty to self and duty to God. Gay will be in conversation with Kate Andersen Brower, a journalist and author of several books including First Women, Elizabeth Taylor: The Grit & Glamour of an Icon, and the #1 New York Times bestseller The Residence, which is being made into a Netflix series.
