At this in-person event (with a virtual attendance option), proof of vaccination is required and masks must be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking during the happy hour before services or during dinner. Sixth & I’s food and beverage policy is subject to change based on the state of the pandemic and local guidelines. Please review our health and safety protocols here. This inclusive service led by Rabbi Aaron and musicians Aaron Shneyer and Adam Green blends contemporary and traditional elements for an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. Uplifting music and the rabbi’s thought-provoking sermon combine for a welcoming one-hour service that’s a good fit for those new to Shabbat or those looking for space to wind down and reflect.
The menu includes:
To start
Eggplant and pomegranate dip with tortilla chips (vegan, GF)
Stuffed grape leaves (vegan, GF)
Dinner
Beef and walnut meatballs in pomegranate sauce (GF, *contains walnut) (Vegan option: tofu in pomegranate sauce)
Kidney beans, Persian dried lime, and herb stew (ghormeh Sabzi) (vegan, GF)
Salad Shirazi: tomato, cucumber, and radish with poppy seed dressing (vegan, GF)
Rice with sour cherry, almond, and orange (vegan)
Dessert
Baklava, halva, and Turkish delight trays
The dinner provided will be kosher. With any dietary needs, please contact Leila at least 5 days in advance.
Sixth & I strives to be an accessible and welcoming resource for the community by offering affordable experiences, including Shabbat dinners. The subsidized price of $18 is intended for young professionals or those with financial need and does not reflect the true cost of the meal provided ($36). If you are able, please consider covering the full cost of your Shabbat meal.
