In solidarity with Capital Pride 2023, Rabbi Aaron leads an inclusive service celebrating the diversity of DC Jewish life. Musicians Aaron Shneyer, Sarah Fredrick, and Jeff Geld will be accompanied by DC’s Different Drummers, a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender music organization that fosters inclusivity through music.

Hear from speakers who will lift up the Capital Pride theme of Peace, Love, Revolution, including a sermon from Rabbi Gil Steinlauf, Executive Director of the Center for Jewish Life at Princeton Hillel.

The following day, march alongside members of GLOE and Bet Mishpachah in the Capital Pride Parade. Advance registration is required.

The menu includes:

To start
Tomato and basil bruschetta (vegan)
Rainbow antipasti skewers with tomato, mozzarella, olives, yellow peppers, zucchini, and purple potatoes (vegetarian, GF)

Dinner
Ratatouille with eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, and peppers  (vegan, GF)
Creamy polenta (vegetarian, GF; vegan option available by request)
Panzanella salad (vegan; GF option available by request)
Chickpea and spinach stew with saffron and smoked paprika (vegan, GF)

Dessert
Basque cheesecake (vegetarian, GF)
Vegan ice cream by request

The meal provided will be kosher-style pescatarian. With any dietary restrictions, please contact Kira by Monday, June 5. A vegetarian hechshered kosher meal must be requested no later than 9:00 am Friday, June 9.

Sixth & I strives to be an accessible and welcoming resource for the community by offering affordable experiences, including Shabbat dinners. The subsidized price of $18 is intended for young professionals or those with financial need and does not reflect the true cost of the meal provided ($36).
