Kosher Beer & Wine Tasting
- This event has passed.
We will discuss the process of creating beer, wine, cider, and spirits. We’ll look at how barley is fermented for beer, grapes for wine, and how they can be distilled for spirits. We will taste several different types of beer in order to better understand the differences between ale, stout, lager, and pilsner. Further discussion will delve into the laws of kashrut surrounding beer and wine. This will be an experiential educational process.
Maurie Rosenberg will lead this program. He is the author of L’chaim – User’s Guide to Kosher Wine 1.0, a guide to the joys and uses of kosher wine. He has worked in kosher catering and retail wine sales.
This program will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
