6:30 pm – Socializing, drinks, and appetizers
7:15 pm – Shabbat service, followed by drinks and dinner

Musical Shabbat service featuring guest speakers from the American Jewish World Service and Miriam’s Kitchen. Enjoy fresh challah baked by Sixth & I’s Challah Back volunteers and engage in thoughtful text study with Rabbi Shira during dinner.

Global Hunger Shabbat, an initiative of the AJWS, is a weekend of nationwide solidarity, learning and reflection around food justice,designed as a springboard into meaningful action over the following months, as we mobilize the American Jewish community in the fight for food justice.

The night will feature speakers Dahlia Rockowitz, Advocacy Coordinator at AJWS and Jenn Roccanti, Assistant Director of Development at Miriam’s Kitchen.

In the spirit of tikkun olam – repairing the world – please bring a canned or non-perishable food item to be donated to DC Central Kitchen.
