- This event has passed.

Musical and interactive Shabbat service with musician Rick Recht and a talk by Joy Ladin. Ladin, a poet and professor of literature at Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women, will tell her powerful story of two visits to the Wailing Wall – the first as a man, the second as a woman – that highlight the complex ways in which Jewish identity is entangled with gender identity.
Ladin is the author of Transmigration: Poems and an upcoming memoir, Inside Out: Confessions of a Woman Caught in the Act of Becoming.
For those in their 20s and 30s
This event is presented in partnership with Nextbook Inc., as part of Jewish Body Week – a series of events in New York City and elsewhere exploring the subjects raised in Melvin Konner’s 2009 book, The Jewish Body.
