This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm beginning October 11.
Never had a Bar or Bat Mitzvah? Or did you have one back in the ‘80s or ‘90s and only remember the after-party? Do you simply want to learn more about services? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please consider enrolling in our B’nai Mitzvah class.
Participants will spend 30 weeks learning about Jewish approaches to prayer, spirituality, and G-d, as well as the ins and outs of Friday night and Shabbat morning services. At the end of the course, if you choose, you can become a B’nai Mitzvah on our historic bimah. Basic Hebrew reading skills required, comprehension not necessary.
Class taught by Rabbi Lauren Holtzblatt, who graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary and worked at the Slifka Center, Yale Hillel, before moving to DC.
