This is a five-week class that meets Tuesdays, April 26 – May 24 at 7:30 pm. A Shabbat dinner will be held on Friday, May 13 at 8:30 pm.

Rabbi Erin Glazer leads an experiential introduction to Judaism course designed for those looking to reconnect with Judaism, as well as non-Jews looking to discover. This five-week course allows students to develop a deeper connection with the Jewish faith through a digestible, interactive introduction to Jewish traditions, customs, and rituals.

The setting for each class will reflect the topics discussed. “Accessing Jewish Spirituality” will take place in the sanctuary to replicate an actual service, while “Embracing the Jewish Obsession with Food” will unfold in a kitchen and will culminate with a Shabbat dinner featuring challah students make by hand. Instead of simply studying prayers, students will connect with mystical Jewish spirituality the way it was meant to be experienced.

Basically Jewish goes beyond teaching and offers participants a chance to step into Jewish life and experience it on their own terms.

Rabbi Erin is the Senior Engagement Officer at MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger where her role is to mobilize the Jewish community to end hunger through advocacy and education.  Most recently, she served as a congregational rabbi at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, New Jersey and has previously worked at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and in the Washington office of the National Council of Jewish Women.
