How would you spend Michael R. Bloomberg’s $1 million?
On May 22, 2014 in Jerusalem, entrepreneur, philanthropist and three-term Mayor of New York City, Michael R. Bloomberg announced he would invest his $1 Million Genesis Prize in the Genesis Generation Challenge, a competition for young adult social entrepreneurs. Interested applicants can submit their ideas beginning August 1st at www.genesis-generation.org.
At this Genesis Generation Challenge launch event, participants can network with other entrants, learn more about the application process, and hear what the judges are looking for in quality submissions.
Event Format:
- Panel discussion and Q&A with Wayne Firestone, President of the Genesis Prize Foundation; Jaison Morgan, President and founding Director of The Common Pool, the organization administering the competition; and Rachel Cohen Gerrol, the Co-Founder and Curator of Nexus and one of the expert judges from the Challenge’s International Evaluation Panel.
- Several smaller discussions, facilitated by leaders of social entrepreneur organizations, that will allow participants to discuss their “big ideas,” hear tips regarding the application, and seek development for skills required to evolve and submit their idea.
