Capacity is limited for in-person attendance. Advanced registration and masks are required. Walk-ups are not permitted. A health attestation form will be sent to all registrants the morning of the class and must be returned to Leila by 4:00 pm. Those attending virtually will receive the Zoom link 48 hours, 2 hours, and 10 minutes before the class begins.

From havdallah at the end of Shabbat to the prayer we say after a meal, Judaism asks us to mark the ending with as much ceremony as we do the beginning. But those are the easy goodbyes, because they’re not about people we love, and they’re not open-ended; we know that Shabbat will come again, and that we will eat again. What of the partings when the next encounter is not known? What if there’s a chance you may never see someone again? In Rabbi Shira’s final class at Sixth & I, share personal stories and study Jewish texts on how to say goodbye, especially when the future is uncertain. Bring tissues.

No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Leila.
