Jewish Welcome Workshop
- This event has passed.
The Jewish Welcome Workshop starts in September of each year and runs for 38 weeks, meeting on Thursday nights. Participants can enroll in either the 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm section. Designed for those in their 20s and 30s, this class is a mix of lectures, group activities, text studies, and holiday celebrations. No Hebrew language knowledge is required. Those wishing to convert will meet with one of the rabbis individually during the year and beyond. The rabbi—in consultation with you—determines when you are ready for the actual conversion.
We are currently accepting prospective students for the 2020-2021 cohort. By joining the inquiry list, you are indicating that you are interested in being contacted during our ongoing enrollment process. Click here to be added to the inquiry list for the 2020-2021 cohort. You will receive a follow up email with more information and requirements for the upcoming course.
An Introduction to Judaism class is a prerequisite for the Jewish Welcome Workshop. One option is our 5-week Basically Jewish course. You are welcome to take the introductory class somewhere else as well. Please email Leila for information about our next Basically Jewish offering or any questions you have about the Jewish Welcome Workshop.
Tagline: No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Leila.
