The Jewish Welcome Workshop
- This event has passed.
The course starts in September of each year and runs for 38 weeks, usually on Thursday nights. Participants can choose to enroll in either the 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm section. This class is for people in their 20s and 30s. The class is a mix of lectures, group activities, text studies, and holiday celebrations. No Hebrew language knowledge is required for this class. Those wishing to convert will meet with one of the rabbis individually during the year and beyond. The rabbi—in consultation with you—determines when you are ready for the actual conversion.
We are currently accepting prospective students for the 2018-2019 cohort. By joining the inquiry list, you are indicating that you are interested in being contacted next summer when we start registration.
An Introduction to Judaism class is a prerequisite for the Jewish Welcome Workshop. One option is our 5-week Basically Jewish course. You are welcome to take the introductory class somewhere else as well. Please email Annie Simon for information about our next Basically Jewish offering or any questions you have about the Jewish Welcome Workshop.
