Lean In to Jewish Non-Profit
- This event has passed.
This three-part series meets on Wednesdays, March 12 – 26.
Inspired by Sheryl Sandberg’s March 2013 appearance at Sixth & I, we’re launching a Lean In Circle for young professional women to learn how to advance their Jewish non-profit careers with strategies adapted from Sandberg’s bestselling book, Lean In.
Using Lean In resources and activities, this three-part series will cover topics including:
- Harnessing your story
- Are liking me and respecting me mutually exclusive?
- Authentic communication
- Successful negotiation
- Mentors, sponsors, partners, lay leaders and volunteers—maximize relationships that matter
- Gender’s impact on our life and career choices and opportunities
- Life’s happening—what matters beyond work and career
Facilitated by Joanne Moore, a former Senior Vice President of The Jewish Federations of North America, with an extensive background in strategic planning, business development, and international affairs. Moore currently serves as a board member with American Jewish World Service, American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, American Associates of Ben Gurion University and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
While not required, we recommend reading Sandberg’s Lean In, as themes explored in the book will be discussed.
