Your Mane Identity
- This event has passed.
Women’s feelings about their hair can be a, well, hairy issue. You may think you have too much of it, or too little, and what to do about those pesky hairs that show up in places where we’d prefer they never surface? If you change your hair from curly to straight, are you denying who you are? Is it anti-feminist? Can you still be proud of your Jewish roots?
Explore the ties connecting hair—curly, straight, wavy or otherwise—and Jewish identity in a salon-style discussion facilitated by Lilith magazine’s Editor in Chief, Susan Weidman Schneider and fiction author and Lilith contributor, Michelle Brafman. This classic issue of Lilith from 1995 on what it means to have Jewish hair will serve as a springboard for conversation.
Bring your trusty hair products because following the discussion there will be a hair product show & tell. Small sample jars will be provided for product swaps.
