Sixth & I and Turner Memorial AME Church will join together to commemorate the spirit and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel for the ninth annual MLK Shabbat service.
The service will be led by Senior Pastor at Turner Memorial AME Church, Reverend William H. Lamar, IV; Rabbi Shira Stutman, Sixth & I’s Director of Jewish Programming; Rabbi Scott Perlo, Sixth & I’s Associate Director of Jewish Programming; and Chazzan Larry Paul.
The night will include a performance by the Afro-Semitic Experience, an ensemble dedicated to preserving, promoting and expanding the rich cultural and musical heritage of the Jewish and African diaspora.
Dessert reception following the service.
