NEW DATE: Women of the Book
- This event has passed.
This class has been rescheduled from its original date on Tuesday, November 19.
For thousands of years, Jewish texts have been primarily written by men for men, but what happens when we bring women’s voices and perspectives to Torah? What new understandings emerge from our ancient text?
In a class led by Rabbi Avi Strausberg, explore teachings from two different texts written by Israeli women and examine the importance of voice, the power of self-definition, and the creation of a Torah where people’s full selves are valued. Open to people of all genders.
Rabbi Avi Strausberg is the Director of National Learning Initiatives at Hadar, and based in Washington, DC. Previously, she served as the Director of Congregational Learning of Temple of Aaron in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her rabbinic ordination from Hebrew College in Boston and is a Wexner Graduate Fellow and she also holds a Masters in Jewish Education.
No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Annie.
