Listen to our Shabbat melodies in our music library.
Shabbat can be the spiritual backbone of your week, setting the rhythm for how you spend your time, express your gratitude, and consider the world around you.
Traditional and contemplative, this egalitarian Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv service led by Rabbi Shira offers a deep sense of focus and intention, aided by soulful and stirring music from Aaron Shneyer. Experience how the sacred and awe-inspiring principles of Jewish tradition can invigorate daily life with a renewed sense of purpose. An hour and a half long, the uplifting and reflective service includes prayers that are recited in Hebrew, with full translation and transliteration provided.
The night is pretty social, with appetizers and drinks before the 7:00 pm service, and a home-cooked, seriously delicious dinner after. At 6:30 pm, there’s an optional deep dive into one of the Shabbat prayers guided by one of the service leaders.
The dinner provided will be kosher. With any dietary needs, please contact Kira at least 5 days in advance.
Sixth & I strives to be an accessible and welcoming resource for the community by offering affordable experiences, including Shabbat dinners. The subsidized price of $18 does not reflect the true cost of the meal provided ($36). If you are able, please consider covering the full cost of your Shabbat meal.
