Small Groups, Big Questions

  • This event has passed.

These five-week meetups offer a space to think through life’s big questions using a Jewish framework. Led by Sixth & I’ers in their apartments and homes, these salon-style gatherings are a great way to meet new people in a relaxed, laid-back setting.

You’ll discuss:

  • Week 1: Introduction
  • Week 2: Individuality vs. communal belonging
  • Week 3: How to make big decisions
  • Week 4: How to disagree with people you love
  • Week 5: How to say goodbye

Apply for winter 2024 cohorts by February 2.

Get to know the facilitators:

Josia (she/her)
Tuesdays, February 13 – March 12 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Josia is a proud Midwesterner who moved to DC in 2022. She works as a lawyer for reproductive health equity. By leading a small group, Josia wants to foster an intentional space and build Jewish community. She loves trying new restaurants, reading, petting her cat Circe, and exploring the city.

Tristan (he/him)
Wednesdays, February 14 – March 13 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Tristan moved to DC from California last July and is still very much missing In-N-Out. In his free time, he enjoys playing pick-up soccer and reading (you’re always welcome to share your book recs with him). In the spirit of the new year, Tristan is trying to get into new hobbies, like backpacking and mixology.

Rachel (she/her)
Thursdays, February 15 – March 14 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Rachel participated in the first round of small groups and loved her experience. She is originally from Austin, TX and grew up doing all things Hebrew school, camp, and BBYO, and now wants to continue to discover what it means to be a Jewish adult and expand her Jewish community. Rachel enjoys baking, painting, and finding new dogs to pet!
