We’ve all heard it: You can’t be buried in a Jewish cemetery if you have a tattoo. But is that really true? As Hebrew tattoos become increasingly common among Jews and non-Jews alike,  Rabbi Avi Strausberg unpacks the roots of this taboo, exploring if and how things have changed and where that leaves us today.

Rabbi Avi Strausberg is the Director of National Learning Initiatives at Hadar, and based in Washington, DC. Previously, she served as the Director of Congregational Learning of Temple of Aaron in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her rabbinic ordination from Hebrew College in Boston and is a Wexner Graduate Fellow and she also holds a Masters in Jewish Education.

No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Annie.
