Parent of a new Jewish baby? It’s a whole new world—diapers, late-night feedings, and family values. Join us for a new parent workshop where you can bring your baby, find support, and make new friends. Each week we’ll focus on a different topic of interest and share the values and experiences we hope to instill in our children’s lives. Led by Certified Parent Coach Michelle Stravitz. Infants 0 – 6 months.

Class held from 10:30 am – Noon.

Shabbat Around the World

Welcome Shabbat and Sukkot with a picnic under the stars and music by Israeli jazz musician Oran Etkin. Etkin will lead us in Shabbat blessings and perform music from his children’s album, Wake Up Clarinet!, as well as selections for adults. Arrive at 5:00 pm to help decorate the sukkah. Dinner and the concert will begin at 5:30 pm.

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is the top name in KID HOP! What is KID HOP, you ask? It’s where kids can be introduced to hip hop with neither side being compromised. Mothers Circle

Mothers Circle is an education and support group for non-Jewish women raising Jewish children. Come meet other moms and learn more about the new circle forming this summer.

Suzi Shelton and Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band

Suzi Shelton is a rising star in the children’s music scene with her catchy, heartfelt lyrics and her hip, upbeat sound. This award-winning singer/songwriter is quickly gaining national acclaim. At the show, Suzi will be joined by NYC guitarist Steve Elliot.

Alex & The Kaleidoscope Band engage audiences of all ages with their lively, interactive, and world-music infused performances. Songs about relationships, emotions, and the natural world will fill the hour. The band includes guitar, bass, drums and two well-known female jazz vocalists who also play trombone.

Meredith & Sofie Jacobs

Meredith and Sofie Jacobs have been sharing a journal since Sofie was nine years old. Just Between Us: A No-Stress, No-Rules Journal for Girls and Their Moms is a fun, fresh journal to help other moms and daughters get to know each other in a whole new way. Advice and thoughtful writing prompts pave the way to discussing everything from friends and school to crushes and growing up. The journal also includes pages for drawing pictures and making lists and plenty of free space for writing about whatever comes to mind. Meredith is the co-founder of ModernJewishMom.com and the host of the weekly radio show Connecting Family with Meredith Jacobs.

Meredith and Sofie will be interviewed by Karen Sommer Shalett, editor-in-chief of DC Magazine.

Torah Yoga Tot Shabbat

Yoga instructor Valerie Greenfeld will lead us in “movement with meaning” on the bimah as she blends traditional Shabbat prayer with yoga postures. Mats will be provided and no previous experience necessary.

Chaverim L

In honor of Purim, Chaverim L’Shalom is celebrating Shabbat with a Persian flair. Come enjoy a delicious Persian dinner and participate in a Purim shpiel. Families are encouraged to stay for a costume parade during Downtown Shabbat.
