*This is a talk, not a musical performance.
A Perfect Union of Contrary Things is the authorized biography of musician and vintner Maynard James Keenan. This event will feature in-person readings from, and discussions about, his authorized biography, as well as a live Q&A session with Maynard. Each paid attendee will receive a copy of the book and a Puscifer CD.
Author Sarah Jensen’s thirty-year friendship with Keenan gives unique insight into his history and career trajectory. The book traces Keenan’s journey from his Midwest childhood to his years in the Army to his time in art school, from his stint at a Boston pet shop to his place in the international spotlight and his influence on contemporary music and regional wine-making. A comprehensive portrayal of a versatile and dedicated artist, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things pays homage to the people and places that shaped the man and his art.
Maynard James Keenan is best known as the vocalist for Grammy Award-winning progressive metal band Tool. Keenan is also the lead singer of A Perfect Circle and Puscifer as a side project. He currently owns Merkin Vineyards and the associated winery, Caduceus Cellars, and also partly owns Stronghold Vineyards, both of which are located in Arizona.
