Dreamers’ Circus
- This event has passed.
Equally at home jamming after hours in a pub (which is how they first met), guesting with the likes of Sarah Jarosz or the Copenhagen Philharmonic, or performing at the celebrated Roskilde Festival, the Danish acoustic trio Dreamers’ Circus perform original compositions combining influences from Scandinavian folk music with elements of classical music and other traditions from around the world.
With instrumentation comprising piano/accordion, cittern (a stringed instrument related to the mandolin and bouzouki), and violin (played by a violinist of the stellar Danish String Quartet), the trio’s palette ranges from gentle, intertwining melodies to fiery folk grooves for a sound that has dazzled audiences worldwide and, with only two recordings to date, has garnered no fewer than five Danish Music Awards.
Violinist Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen also appears in the Danish String Quartet on November 12.
