Having established himself as the world’s preeminent sarod player over the course of a distinguished career spanning more than six decades, Amjad Ali Khan brings his expressive sound for a family gathering with his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, both “excellent musicians” (New York Times) in their own right. The power trio of sarod players join forces to create “a 57-string three-man symphony orchestra” (The Times, London) in this superb performance of Indian classical music, a living tradition that runs seven generations deep in this family.
