As her fiftieth birthday approached, the woman who taught America how to get dinner on the table, fast, started thinking about how her passion for food and feeding people had developed over time. From sharing sardine sandwiches with her grandpa to enjoying Sicilian classics with her mother and cooking brown-butter balsamic ravioli with her husband, Ray has learned that good meals are as much about stories, life lessons, and beautiful moments as they are about ingredients, flavor, and preparation.
In Rachael Ray 50: Memories and Meals from a Sweet and Savory Life, the self-taught cook shares 125 new recipes—including the dishes she finds most special and the ones she makes for herself and her friends at home—and the memories that made her laugh out loud or cry, through 25 thoughtful, personal essays. The result is a collection that offers the perfect blend of kitchen and life wisdom, with thoughts on how we can better serve the world and one another.
Ray is a multi-Emmy Award-winning syndicated television host, a Food Network personality, bestselling cookbook author, founder and editorial director of the lifestyle magazine Rachael Ray Every Day, and founder of the Yum-o! organization and The Rachael Ray Foundation. In conversation with Carla Hall, former co-host of ABC’s “The Chew” and author most recently of Carla Hall’s Soul Food.
