Conversion Immersion
- This event has passed.
This virtual class meets Wednesdays, November 10 and 17 at 7:00 pm. Attendees will receive the Zoom link 48 hours, 2 hours, and 10 minutes before the class begins.
Curious about the concept of conversion? Whether you’re considering conversion yourself, are a born Jew who always wanted to know more about what it takes to convert, or if you’re just curious about the dunks you’ve seen depicted in TV shows, this two-part class is for you. With Rabbi Nora, dive into Jewish sources on conversions, examine depictions of conversions and Jews-by-choice in pop culture, and discuss how and why individuals have converted to Judaism—and how they’ve been received by Jews—across time.
Please note this class is not a prerequisite for conversion. If you are interested in our Jewish Welcome Workshop course or want to speak with a rabbi to discuss the process of conversion, please email Leila.
No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Jewish Life Programming Associate, Dan.
