In Conversation with Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock

From an early age, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro learned the power of showing up, listening, and executing to make people’s lives a little better from seeing his parents serve others—his father in the Navy and as the local pediatrician, and his mother as an educator.

In Where We Keep the Light: Stories from a Life of Service, he shares an intimate account of his family life, public service, and personal faith. Reflecting on what he’s learned along the way from knocking on doors, serving his community, and tackling the tough issues we face, Josh Shapiro reminds us that government can be a force for good—and there’s more that unites Americans than divides us.

Gov. Shapiro previously served as Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, and State Representative. He’ll be in conversation with Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, who was elected Georgia’s first Black Senator in 2021. He also serves as Senior Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
