The Lone Bellow

Rising Brooklyn folk-pop band The Lone Bellow infuses its songs with charm, radiant hooks and intense emotions. The trio’s self-titled debut album, released earlier this year, is exuberant in its playing and welcoming in its attitude. Though the lyrics have a melancholic undercurrent, the tracks are more often rave-ups than ruminations, with swelling three-part harmonies and rousing group-sung choruses. Jon Dolan of Rolling Stone claimed, “The trio shape folk, gospel and blues influences into straight-ahead roots rock somewhere between The Lumineers and Lady Antebellum.”
Formed as a creative outlet for singer Zach Williams as his wife recovered from an accident that nearly paralyzed her, the band performs with a sense of necessity. Given the circumstances, it’s no surprise that the group so often reflects on redemption in memorable ways.
