The Atlantic’s James Fallows and his wife Deborah will appear to discuss what they’ve learned in the past few months on their “American Futures” project of exploring America’s heartland by small plane.
Fallows, a former White House Speech writer, China expert, and the author of many books, is also a longtime pilot and owner of a small plane. He and his wife, a linguist and author of Dreaming in Chinese, are touring smaller cities across the nation to find stories of surprising resilience and of business, political, and cultural recovery.
In a conversation with Atlantic Editor in Chief James Bennet, The Fallowses will discuss what they have discovered about the country and themselves along the way.
