Anais Mitchell’s highly acclaimed “folk opera” makes its DC debut at Sixth & I. Hadestown is an inventive new take on the Orpheus myth that music critics are calling “nothing short of awe-inspiring.” Mitchell will be accompanied by a cast of notable folk artists, including Devon Sproule, Paul Curreri, Louis Ledford, Carsie Blanton, Jacqueline Stem, Carleigh Nesbit and Jesse Elliott (These United States) with musical director Michael Chorney and the Hadestown Orchestra.
