Winner of eight GRAMMY awards and three Latin GRAMMY Awards, Dionisio Jesús “Chucho” Valdés Rodríguez’s music career flourished under the influence his father, the great Bebo Valdés, and his mother, Pilar Rodríguez, a piano teacher and singer. Deemed “the dean of Latin Jazz” by All About Jazz, Chucho “demonstrates a dizzying exuberance at the piano…like [he] can barely contain his enthusiasm.”
