Brubeck Reimagined
- This event has passed.
Internationally renowned pianist Cyrus Chestnut and his quartet perform Brubeck Reimagined, a special concert in tribute to the memory of one of America’s jazz icons—Dave Brubeck. A revered pianist and composer, Brubeck was one of our nation’s most treasured cultural ambassadors. He played an instrumental role in popularizing jazz worldwide during the 1950s and ’60s with recordings such as Jazz Impressions of Eurasia and Time Out. The latter album was the first jazz album to sell a million copies and featured Take Five, the still instantly recognizable hit single that was the album’s centerpiece.
Dave Brubeck died in December, 2012, one day before his 92nd birthday. Debuted last year in Philadelphia, the Brubeck concert was received with rave reviews from the jazz press.
