Deep Dive: Intensive Talmud Study
- This event has passed.
This is a four month series that meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm beginning Wednesday, October 19.
When it comes to studying Talmud, you can dip a toe into the water, or you can dive into the deep end of this rich Jewish spiritual and ethical text.
Rabbi Scott guides students in classic, partnered Talmud study. Participants will be expected to create havruta (traditional study partnerships) and to prepare and review sources with their havruta on the off weeks.
Study will be primarily in English, but a ready knowledge of Hebrew letters and how to sound them out is helpful. Students should be prepared to learn to comprehend and translate basic Biblical verses. Prior experience with Talmud study is encouraged but not necessary.
Those interested in taking this course should consider participating in the two-part series, Deep Dive: Preparing for the High Holidays.
