The three songwriters/producers who make up Distant Cousins have both the musical and personal connections to justify the name of their band; their chemistry was so strong that their first official writing session resulted in the appropriately named, hit song “On My Way.”
Duvid, Dov, and Ami each bring impressive musical resumes to the collaboration.
Duvid, who grew up in a small village in Israel, co-founded the internationally renowned band Moshav, and has created music with Grammy award-winning musicians such as Ron Aniello, Cliff Norrell, and Arron Embery.
Dov began his professional career with the band Blue Fringe. He co-fronts LA folk duo The Wellspring, whose songs have been heard in hit television shows including House M.D. and Cougar Town, and the duo recently scored all original music for the movie Coffee Town.
Ami, who began his career by composing music for international advertising agencies, released an EP as a solo artist and was featured performing his seasonal single “It’s That Time of Year” live for HGTV’s national holiday promo.
Combined experience and complimentary musical and personal worldviews have blended seamlessly for Distant Cousins. In their short time as a band, three songs from their debut EP have already been licensed. “Raise It Up” was featured on hit TV shows Graceland and Criminal Minds. “Fly Away” was heard on The CW’s Reign, and “Are You Ready” (On My Way) was featured in the Jason Bateman/Tina Fey film, This Is Where I Leave You.
